Dreaming of that river in Egypt

A dreamer in a dreamy world~

Updates so far~~

Oh well, a year has past~~ Many things happened. I'll try to list it down.
  1. Lasik Surgery. I've got perfect eyesight now~~ Hohoho. At last I can try on sunglasses
  2. Had the best birthday party ever. Simply showed how blessed I am with such wonderful family and irreplaceable friends.
  3. Had more treats~~ Well, more friends means more treats. Every events will lead to a treat, but I'm not complaining! hehehe
  4. Went for BSM South Korea. Ermmm not a bad experience, but not a country that I'd visit again ^^. Once is enough I guess. Though I learnt a lot from this trip.. Learnt sign languages (the only way to communicate there), bargain and price hunt! Haha oh well, *indo mode* orang orangnya terlalu kasar and atmospherenya is totally not friendly. The goods nggak murah murah banget. Yang murah, qualitynya tak terjamin. Hahahaha another thing I learnt is.. You'll never know a person until you live with them. I was lucky cause I roomed with a nice sweet girl. It's not everyday you get to room with someone that's nice enough to prepare the bubble bath for you. But some nights, room ama orang yang super reseh and egois bener!! <>. Couldn't be more glad when I reached Singapore.

I'll try my best not to be lazy again ^^ (Yeah right)

Oooops..

Hohoho after a longggg absence.. I think I'll try another attempt to write. Let me just finish the Japan tour (after 1 year delay). ~_~

Day 3 Awara - Takayama
Date: 13th August 2007

Went to a pottery making region and brought a cute and pretty soya sauce holder (with Sakura patterns on it). The next visit is unforgettable! It's Kagahan, a city of desserts where 1000 kind of Japanese sweet treats are made and the best part is, we can taste them for free! Hohohoho. Then we proceeded to Tojimbo to view the sea and the rocks. This place is famous as a suicide spot though. We also went to Kenrokuen, 1 of the 3 great gardens of Japan, best viewed in Spring, Autumn and Winter. There were only greens and more greens during the summer. The 2 next stops were very traditional Japanese village, Shirakawa-go and Takayama. Such a peaceful, beautiful and clean village!! I don't mind visiting this place again.

Day 4 Takayama - Mt Fuji
Date: 14th August 2007

Ramen Ramen Ramen!!! Off we went to Ramen House~~ Bought some ramens as souvenirs too ^^. After that we went to Mt Norikuradake supposedly to experience the summer snow, but it all melted totally! One of the hottest summer I presume. So we went to see the waterfall caused by the melted snow instead. Beautiful scenery, so no regrets there. Then, at last, Mt Fuji!!!!! I sooo totally wanted to try the Onsen, and yet my guts failed me again. Sobsss..

Day 5 Mt Fuji - Tokyo
Date: 15th August 2007

We visited the 1300 year-old Asakusa Kannon Temple which means more charms for me!! hehehehe. The next stop is the stop we've been waiting for.. Odaiba Park, a shopping district with places like Palette Town, and Venus Fort Shopping Mall. What's the best part about this place?? It's the Burberry Blue Label!!!!! OMG!! The prices are soooo affordable we lost control!!! Ended up with 4 bags and a shirt in the end. But we're oh so glad!! hehehe. At the ground level, there's a Pet Heaven as well!!! Oh JOY!! Sweet doggies everywhere!! I LOVE this place!!

Day 6 Tokyo
Date: 16th August 2007

Tokyo Disneyland!!!!!!!! It's really huge and happening!! Though we didnot try any ride except the Alice cup ride since the queue is sooo longgg..!! It so happened that it coincides with the summer holiday. One full day is not even enough to cover each and every parts. Around evening time, there were some entertainment shows, and we managed to get the very front seat =D. Would love to try the DisneySea next time.

Day 7 Tokyo - Singapore
Date: 17th August 2007

Time to bid Japan good bye~~~ Had a wonderful time there. Would have been even better if only my family went without anyone tagging along. Oh well, there's always a second time =D. ehhehe.. Home Sweet Home.

Day 2 Osaka - Kyoto - Awara

Date: 12 August 2007 (日)
Temperature: 37 C

After a hefty breakfast, we proceed to Shinsaibashi.

It is a long stretch of shopping area which I loved sooooo much! It is home to Daimaru, the last-standing Sogo and a large variety of shops. We were only given 1.5 hours to shop and at that time, most of the shops are not even open yet which caused much disappointment in our part. The vibrant atmosphere, friendly faces and deceptively HUGE shops made a great shopping experience! The shops may look small, but it actually stretch wide inside with 3 floors to boost! Most of the stuffs sold here are similar to those found in Tokyo, yet the price is much cheaper here. (*contented sigh*)
Note: This place is a MUST go!

Next up is Osaka Castle with its 400+ years of history.

The walls built around the castle were made of boulders brought from all parts of Japan. This still puzzles Historians as until now, they have no idea how they were able to bring those huge boulders (some exceeds 100 tons) there while there were no known means of transport at that era.

Anyway, to more important matters (*grins*), we ate a super heavy lunch at this place. A bowl of udon, a bowl of rice and a mini hot pot. Yumm~~~ After that, we start looking for souvenirs and taking photos under the smouldering hot sun. My first thought was, "Is this Japan or the Sahara??" It was soooo hot! I even saw an ambulance carrying someone suffering from heat stroke.

After this, we proceed to Osaka station to ride the super-fast bullet train a.k.a Shinkansen. Our destination is: Kyoto. The station was bustling with people and yet it was SO clean. Anyway, we were a bit "Norak" and tried to get a perfect picture of the train itself and I got a prefect shot!! Heeeeeeeee...

Once we arrived at Kyoto station, we experienced Heaven in the form of Ice-cream Mochi! If you happen to be here, go to the bakery near the ticket station. It is one of the very few places that made this edible Heavens as it can only last 1 day. I was one of the first to eat it, and I simply shouted "Uenak tenannn" and those ppl who already bought but haven't eat it, started to queue again for more! But really, it's good. It's layers of creams and cake with a fresh strawberry in the middle covered in Mochi skin. The taste? As a dear friend of mine put it, "Hush! I'm in Heaven, do not disturb."

After that Heavenly refreshment, we proceed to our last stop of the day, the beautiful Kiyomizu Temple.

This temple is famous for its veranda, supported by hundreds of pillars, overlooking the city. I went to "pai pai" a while and brought a lot of colourful charms as souvenirs. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to try walking down the love stones (information here). But I'm satisfied with the long stretch of shop houses. Heee..

Note: I'd recommend the all 1050Y shop. the stuffs are good! The owner could also speak a lil Indo "Semua 1050Y. Sangat murah"

And we wrapped Day 2 at a small inn near Awara. The room is tatami style and it was HUGE. It has a separate living room, bed room, small kitchen and entrance room.
This inn is actually an Onsen resort. However, you have to be totally naked to soak in the spring. I tried to gather my courage to go in, I was already in my yukata with my mom and aunt. However, once we reached, we saw a few ppl from our own group and we simply didnot wish to let them see our assets. So we went back to our room. *Sobs*
End of Day 2...

Day 1 Singapore - Narita - Osaka

Yooz..!! I've just returned from my trip to Japan and for the sake of memories, I shall blog about this most enjoyable journey! Beware of long boring posts.. You've been warned! hehe..

Date: 11 August 2007 (土)
Flight: ANA (All Nippon Airways)

The day has come, the wait is over. Japan, here we come!!! We were lucky to get the morning flight, and we begin our 7 hours flight in the morning. Even with the excitement, by the time we reached Narita airport, my back was aching like hell! Unfortunately, the flight doesn't end here. There was a change in the itinerary and we had to transfer to Osaka immediately. Since our arrival was delayed, we have to RUNNNN to catch our next flight (tapi sempet nyasar. Nunggu di arrival instead of departure. Masih untung masih keburu). After about 30 minutes, we arrived at Itami airport, Osaka. (AT LAST!! I swear my already flat butt has lost its shape by then).

After we deposited our baggage at the hotel, we went to a nearby shopping district to look for FOOD!! Dinner was not included, so we decided to try the traditional Ramen stand! The Oji-san was sooo friendly and funny. The food was OK (I still think that all Ramen taste the same) but the atmosphere was great. We were drenched in sweat by the time we finished our food. Here's some pics of the place.

After that, we went to sleep with a full stomach! (tht explains my bulging stomach..) Oh yah, the most fascinating part of the hotel would be.. the Toilet! It has all those funny functions. From warm seats, water pressure, spray and more! It also has complete ladies amenities, from iketan rambut, korek kuping, kapas, banyak macem deh!!!
Oh well, that would be the end of Day 1. See ya in Day 2!!!

Ooohhhmmmmmmm......

Hmmm..

This morning, papi and mami tercinta lagi berdiskusi. Entah mengapa sudah berkali2, everytime someone says "Aku nggak bakal mau _____", pasti malah akan terjadi. Example: I used to say that I dislike SMU (I still am) and I would never ever want to be a student there. But lo and behold, here I am a student of SMU. There are more examples, but simply too many to be mentioned here.

Terus, papi bilang, "Jadi orang memang harus pasrah. Harus santai santai aja. Fate simply has a way with us. Makin kita ga mau something, makin kita dapet that something." Hiks.. bener banget.

Terus mereka ngomongin soal jadi orang mesti sabar. Hehehe since I have an extreme short-temper, I can get angry anywhere, anytime. Entah mengapa, nyambungnya ke Yoga. Memang kata orang yoga bisa melatih orang jadi lebih sabar. Ermmm baru 1 bulan jadi nggak tau ada effect nggak hehehe. But so far, lumayan juga sih.. Tiap kali lagi sangat kesel, tinggal masuk ke Hatha B and masalahnya terlupakan.

Semoga bisaaa *prays*

A Whole New Look!

Woohooo..!! At long last, I've updated this blog, along with a new look. I've been looking high and low for a template that is pleasing to the eye, simple, yet not so simple. Fortunately, while searching for a template for a dear friend of mine (yang ternyata lebih picky dari gue, hoho), this simply caught my fancy. (Thanks a lot Piiiii..!!)

Anywayyy, it's getting extremely late now and they're supposed to give me a new project tomorrow. Hope I can stay awake during the briefing >_< *crosses fingers*

Ciao~~

Girls are like...

Girls are like
apples on trees. The best
ones are at the top of the tree.
The boys don't want to reach for
the good ones because they are afraid
of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they
just get the rotten apples from the ground
that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples
at the top think something is wrong with
them, when in reality, they're amazing.
They just have to wait for the right
boy to come along, the one
who's brave enough
to climb
all the way
to the top
of the tree.

Nice quotes ^^
